That Borderlands 2 is a great game, there is no doubt about it. It is at the level reached by very few of surviving over several generations of games.
Generations come and go and there are always some doubts about the game, one that several people have asked me is if Borderlands 2 is Cross-Platform. Weeeeeeellllll… check it out.
Is Borderlands 2 Cross-Platform?
The short answer would be no, it doesn’t allow you to play between PC, Playstation, and Xbox.
It doesn’t matter which generation you’re in, it still doesn’t allow this interaction.
However, there is a special case. If you play on PC, no matter which store you buy, everyone can play together. Then you can buy on Steam or Epic Games that won’t be excluded.
Note: Remember that although you can play with your friend in another store, he is not Cross Progression. So if you are playing on Steam you cannot bring your character to Epic Games or vice versa.
But why is Borderlands 2 still not Cross-Platform?
There are two main reasons given by Gearbox:
- The game was not created thinking about being Cross-Platform and therefore if it had servers like that it could suffer from Lag and Latency.
- The difference between PC and Consoles is very stark and there are several quirks.
In both cases, it’s possible to understand the difficulties, but the most worrying thing is that there is no indication that it will change in the future.
Well, that was it. Now that you know all about Cross-Platform and Borderlands 2, how about taking a look at ALL Borderlands 2 Shift Codes (edited in 2021).
