Borderlands 3’s latest DLC, The Designer’s Cut, brought several new mechanics such as Arms Race and Vault Cards. But a very cool detail is that a room that seemed to be always closed on your ship, now has the Armory and you can open it using Diamond Keys to receive legendary items.
What is the Diamond Armory?
You can find this room on the lower level of Sanctuary 3’s bridge. Just walk past all the terminals on the bridge and go down the stairs in the back of the room. There you will find the Diamond Armory.
To enter the Diamond Armory, a Diamond Key will be required. Once inside you will find that the walls are filled with gear, for you to select.
How does Diamond Armory work?
Once inside the Armory a timer will start, during this time you must select one item of each type to receive it. You will have 300 seconds to make your choice. While 5 minutes might sound like a lot, comparing all the stats will quickly consume your time.
Inside the room you will find:
- 30 Shield Mods
- 15 to 30 Weapons
- 30 Grenade Mods
Diamond Loot Chest
Once you have chosen your 3 items, the Diamond Loot Chest in the center of the room will power up and will give you a guaranteed legendary item.
How To Get Diamond Keys in Borderlands 3?
To get a Diamond Key you will have to open Vault Card Chests.
Vault Cards are yet another mechanic introduced in this DLC, where you will have some objectives to complete in order to receive a Vault Card Chest.
Among these goals, the simplest is the Vault Card to get XP. Which only requires you to play the game, until reaching a specific XP will yield a Vault Card Chest.
