Are you ready for more adventures with Senku and the Kingdom of Science? The long-awaited third season of Dr. Stone is finally on its way, and it’s shaping to be an exciting journey. To kick off the season, the show aired a special episode called “Dr. Stone: Ryusui,” introducing a new character who will play a crucial role in the story moving forward. The episode also revealed a new version of the opening from Season 1, “Good Morning World,” and set the stage for the story’s next chapter.
In “Dr. Stone: New World,” Senku and his friends will embark on a quest to find the source of the petrification that devastated the world. According to Senku’s calculations and suppositions, the source may be located somewhere at sea, so the Kingdom of Science sets out to explore and restore civilization as they knew it. This new season, which is set to premiere in April 2023 as part of the Spring season, will follow the main cast as they discover what the rest of the world looks like after the petrification disaster.
TMS Entertainment will return to handle the animation for this season, and the main cast is also expected to return. The season will adapt two arcs from the manga – the Age of Exploration Arc and the Treasure Island Arc – and a brand new key visual featuring Senku, Kohaku, Chrome, Gen, Ryusui, and a yet-to-be-revealed character has also been released. The Dr. Stone manga ran from March 2017 to March 2022 and was collected into 26 tankobon volumes. The series was published by Shueisha in Japan, and Viz Media published it in English.
