Rare Blastoise Pokémon card sells for $360,000

2021 started as a rollercoaster of emotions for the Pokémon Card fans, showcasing how crazy an audition can get.

First, we had a Charizard card selling for $350,00 at the end of 2020. Then sealed boxes of first edition cards for $408,000. But wait, that’s not the end of it.

Last week a graded to CGC 8.5 Blastoise Commissioned Presentation Galaxy Star Hologram card, was sold by the Certified Collector’s Group at auction for $360,000.

But of course, it wasn’t just any non-mint conditional Blastoise card. This particular Blastoise was part of a test run made by Wizards of the Coast back in 1998 ahead of Pokémon’s launch in the West, this is the only of them that doesn’t have a reverse side printed.

So, what should we expect now? A $400,00 Mr. Mime card I hope.
